Skincare Routine

Top tips for your skincare routine

It’s easy to be overwhelmed when trying to find the perfect skincare routine. The first step to achieving results requires knowing how and when to use certain products. For example, not all cleansers can tackle makeup, and not all moisturisers can work their magic during the day. To help you develop a skincare routine that works for you, here’s a five-step guide.

Firstly, depending on your skin type, starting and ending your day by cleansing your face can kickstart your journey to healthier skin. To get more out of cleansing, give double cleansing a try. Start with a Cleanse Off Mitt. This is a reusable microfibre cloth that melts away stubborn makeup by just adding water. The Cleanse Off Mitt can be a great pre-cleanser, making way for a liquid cleanser like Bioderma Micellular Water. This product utilises a special formula to micro-emulsify impurities while maintaining the skin’s PH balance. Just soak a cotton pad in the solution and apply, to enjoy clean and cleansed skin.

Once your skin is squeaky clean, it’s time to give it some TLC. Due to their lightweight consistency, serums are a fantastic way to ensure nutrients soak into the skin. To get the most out of your serum, you need to match it to your skin type. For example, Vichy Mineral 89 is perfect for dry skin. The gel like texture, full of Thermal Mineralizing Water and Hyaluronic Acid, absorbs into the complexion immediately, drenching it with moisture. Alternatively, Pestle & Mortar’s Serum acts as the ultimate moisturiser for your skin. Its smooth concentrate targets fine lines, dullness and dehydration, effectively restoring a healthy glow, plumpness and radiance to the skin. Meaning you can target three skin conditions with one serum.

Complement this deep level hydration from a quality serum by hydrating the top level of your skin with a moisturiser. The La Roche Posay Hydraphase range offers multiple rehydrating products. The two key moisturisers come in Ultra-Light, and UV Intense Rich (with added SPF 20). Do you suffer with sensitive skin? Bioderma Sensbio creams are a great option. Ultra-soothing, these products are made to prevent and combat redness. Now the basis of your routine is almost complete, to add the final touch to the hydrating process, ensure the delicate eye area gets the attention it deserves with a product like Vichy Idealia Eyes—to improve the look of tired eyes and fine lines.

If you want to showcase your newly glowing skin, a BB cream can be a welcome addition to your skincare routine. A BB cream combines hydrating and evening formulations with a tint of colour—perfect for those summer days. For those with sensitive skin, look no further than La Roche Posay’s Hydreane BB Cream, which has been specially formulated for irritated skin. If you’re looking for something to brighten your complexion and reduce dullness, give Vichy Idealia BB Cream a try.

No matter how much you try and look after your skin, sometimes you need a little extra help to treat a skin condition like acne. Acne Out, by Biofresh, is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin, but still provides results to those suffering with effects of acne.

La Roche Posay Effaclar offers a complete skincare range for oily and acne prone skin, choose from everyday moisturisers like Effaclar Matte to decrease shine or Effaclar A.I. Breakout Corrector which targets and quickly treats individual blemishes.

If it’s the odd breakout that you’re looking to tame, try Neutrogena’s Light Therapy Targeted Acne Spot Treatment. This pen is the perfect targeted treatment for minor acne breakouts. The spot treatment harnesses dermatologist techniques by showering your skin in red and blue light. Its key to reducing acne is by ridding the skin of the two main causes of breakouts - inflammation and bacteria.

No matter your skin type, using this five-step guide will help you on your way to healthier, happier skin.
