Official charity partner: The Alzheimer Society of Ireland
Hickey’s Pharmacy today announced The Alzheimer Society of Ireland as its charity partner.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is the national leader in understanding and providing dementia-specific supports and services in Ireland. With a national network of over 120 specialist services, 900 staff and 300 volunteers, each year they provide almost 900,000 hours of community-based, dementia-specific we are proud to be partnering with a charity providing such valuable support in local communities. Hickey’s Pharmacy play an integral role in the communities they serve, working alongside GP’s and other healthcare professionals. Having worked with local communities for over 20 years Hickey’s recognise the opportunity for its pharmacy network of 37 stores and over 350 employees to assist in raising funds and awareness of the services the Society offer together with and supporting patients with dementia, and their carers.
To launch the partnership our teams will be selling purple Memory Ribbons this week in all 37 stores for €3 each. All of the funds raised will go towards crucial dementia services and providing essential assistance to people living with dementia and to the loving families who support them.
